AS Media Studies Media Prelim Evaluation
AS Media Studies Prelim Evaluation
Having finished our Prelim task, Me, Brooke, Brandon and Emily received feedback from Dan Grayer, Ben Lecky and Brandon Chan on our film and they gave us feedback telling us what was good and what improvements that could of been made.
Criteria:
From our feedback were told what was done correctly and well was our match on action which was used clearly and also the use of camera movement and shots right at the beginning when the protagonist is storming to the managers office. Also the Performance was good at it was believable we were both business men conducting negotiating the cost of Freddos. What I personally believe our group did very well was using a large variety of camera shots showing a lot of the building making it look more office like and professional. Also I like the fact we didn't include a soundtrack or any kind of music and it makes the scene more tense and explores the anger the customer feels.
Improvements:
Improvements that were suggested to us where that the area chosen as our office space didn't look professional enough and there was posters and such around the room making it look less business like and also didn't follow the 180 degree rule 100%. Improvements I personally believe our group could of improved on was a more controlled use of the camera from were I walk down the corridor as the camera is shaky and also chose a different setting when conducting the interview so it looks even more professional and looks like we are having a serious discussion.

Pre-Lim Planning
Above is our script we used for our movie
Locations:
We will be filing in our Colleges building as it looks very professional and business like which suits our storyline of a man storming into a office building being angry.
- We are gonna film the angry protagonist (myself) storming down the first floor corridor to show him going to the mangers (Brandon) office
- We are gonna film the protagonist going into the lift and coming out of it.
- Than we will film the protagonist going through the upper floor's corridor opening doors angrily
- We will film in a small room with a table and 2 chairs to act as an office the protagonist and manager discuss in
The Protagonist and the manager will wear smart clothing to make it look more professional so when they talk it looks like a business meeting.
- The Protagonist will wear a black shirt, black trousers, black shoes and a sliver and grey tie with glasses as the protagonist is a business man and stereotypically business men dress very smartly
- The Manager will ware a white shirt, black trousers, black shoes and a black tie as he is a manager of a very popular brand of chocolate so he has to look professional.
We are going to use multiple shots as seen in the story board to make it looks more professionally filmed and looks better to watch also the shots captured a lot of the building in the background making it even seem more office/business like.
